Jackson Hole (trapperese for Jackson Valley) is an incredibly
beautiful valley surrounded by tremendous snow covered mountains.
In the mid-1960's Jackson Hole Mountain Resort developed of one of
these mountains to create 2,500 acres of some of the best snow skiing
terrain in the world.
The Mangy Moose opened for business at the base of this
new ski resort in 1967 and soon became a favorite of visitors and
locals alike. A four story addition to house the new Saloon, Rocky
Mountain Oyster Restaurant and retail shops was completed in 1987.
The building has been recently renovated with a new kitchen in the
main restaurant, new bathrooms and a brand new coat of paint on the
exterior.
The world famous Mangy Moose will continue to improve
but will always be an eclectic, funky and fun place to visit, meet
nice people, enjoy a good meal and hear great live music.
